Suprnova.org is back.. almost.
The owner of suprnova.org, sloncek, has come out with a new torrent site which promises to be as good as Suprnova which was *THE* definitive site to download torrents from. As we all know it was closed down and eXeem was in it’s place, but failed to take off and was not as good or as popular as Suprnova.
The new site is NewNova.org!

It was launched a few months ago and din’t have a forums or search and now it’s back with all the features inc. IRC chat, news etc. I did check out the site, so far so good.
Another good thing that I noticed is, whenever we want to download the torrent file and click on the list, it don’t open up a new page, load and then we need to download, it directly allows us to download the torrent file.
Let’s hope that NewNova.org is as good as Suprnova.org was.

The squad for the third Test against Sri Lanka was announced and I am surprised not to find Ganguly not being selected. Ganguly was selected ahead of Yuvraj. 5,40 & 39 scores are not enough for his selection. This would be disappointing for Ganguly and he fans. This was already a comeback series of him.

His poor run with the feilding, the running between the wickets and not to forget the run outs involving Laxman and Dravid might have also might have played a role in his non inclusion. His slow scoring rate, inefficient running where many ones should have been a couple, etc.. weighted against his selection. Yuvraj was in fine run in the South-African series where he was the man of the series and the 77 he scored against the Sri Lankans gave him the nod ahead of Ganguly. The return of Virender Sehwag sealed his fate.

Just a coincidence?
He was selected ahead for Zaheer Khan for the first and second test. Kiran more (chairman of selectors) said Ganguly would be a batsmen-allrounder. He was given an opportunity to bowl a single ball at Kotla. If he was selected as a allrounder and if the selectors feel that he was required as a bowler, then why was Zaheer or any other bowler not selected?
Why was Wasim Jaffer selected? What’s the need for a third “specialised” opener? Jaffer may not play as Sehwag is all set to return as opener with Gambir. Last time Jaffer opend he scored a duck and 5 at England which was at August, 2002 and has not played any International matches since then.
Jaffer is a Mumbaikar and Ganguly is a bengali. Is it a just a coincidence?
Super-sub and Ganguly:
I always feel that in the first place, Ganguly should have been playing in the ODIs. He has scored more than 9,000 runs and taken more than 125 wickets. His record in ODIs is better than the tests and he has always performed in the ODIs. Even if Ganguly does not not has a “place” in the ODI team, he can atleast be played as a super-sub (see his plight!). Laxman and Ganguly are better than Suresh Raina or Gautam Gambir as batsmen if at all the management wants a batsmen as a super-sub.
Light at the End of the Tunnel
I don’t know what the selectors feel, whether they want to end his career, but Ganguly should not loose heart and never give up. There is still cricket left in him and he can still prove a point or two. He should be focused and play well in the domestic tournaments. The Pakistan series is coming up and he might be still selected as many are inexperienced.
Ganguly deserve better treatment than this. I am not saying because he is India’s most successful captain or a senior player. He dont deserve a shoddy treatment as he is a better player than Kaif or Wasim Jaffer
Cats and Tigers are not in the same league. Ganguly, prove it.
Squad for the Third test:
Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Wasim Jaffer, Rahul Dravid (capt), Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (wk), Irfan Pathan, Ajit Agarkar, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, Murali Kartik, RP Singh.
